The Flamingo Motel

Perfect no frills motel. Got a room with 2 beds for the weekend of the Fisher concert. Beds were clean and comfortable. The room has a fridge and a microwave. Our room was street facing so yeah we could hear the cars once traffic picked up but that was expected. The only bad thing about the room was the shower (pictured). The water pretty much went everywhere except straight, so it was a battle trying to angle the showerhead so it would hit my body. Everything else about the room is what you should expect. Location is pretty ideal if you enjoy walking. Lots of restaurants nearby, a whole foods and the Arena about 10-15 minutes walk. 25-30 minute walk to the bars on Santa Clara Street and around 1st.

It was a perfect location to access stores, restaurants, freeways and such. Good bookstore nearby. Also friendly staff that cares, room was big with two beds and bathrooms were spacious. We also appreciated the refrigerator although it lacked a freezer, had a microwave,dryer close parking and although close to the street was relatively quiet on the front side enjoyable stay.

Great location on a street full of vibrant daytime activities. Great restaurants (highly recommend Zona Rosa), coffeehouses, and cute shops. Our room was very clean, well stocked, quiet, and comfortable. The staff, especially the proprietor, was friendly, kind, and accommodating. Hands down the best motor inn/motel I've stayed at in my years of traveling. Don't forget to check out the neon flamingos on the signage in the evening!

100/10!!! Customer service is phenomenal, rooms are spacious and exceptionally clean. Definitely NOT what you think of when you think of “motel.” We will never sty anywhere else when we come to San Jose Sharks game. Easy walk to great food, bars, and the SAP Center. You won’t regret staying here.

Great location - walking distance to some really good restaurants. Very convenient to the airport. Whole Foods right down the street. Free, on-site parking. The room was pretty much what you see in the pictures. It was very clean. I actually took along a UV flashlight against my better judgement and found the place spotless. The chair that came with the desk should have been tossed at least 5 years ago, but that was my only complaint about the room. The bed was comfortable, UV-spotless, including all bedding, and at a nice height for someone with bad knees. Good water pressure, plenty of hot water in the morning - never an issue. I had the shades open one morning and observed the cleaning crew working on the room across from me. They were in there for at least 30 minutes and even removed and cleaned both sides of the windows. Room included good-sized, cold fridge, microwave, daily in-room coffee, local phone, Dish TV, free wireless, and toiletries.

If you are in the mood for an old school Motel experience, this is the place. I was initially attracted to the retro design and architecture of the building. Neon, slightly gaudy colors, and a cool sign intrigued me. The room doors are Flamingo pink and accented with blue neon. A huge plus for me was that this was clearly a locally owned, non-chain operation, and after reading the reviews I decided to give it a try. There seemed to be just enough parking, a bit tight but doable for sure. The front desk staff was helpful, not overly friendly, but efficient. I didn’t expect the most modern and up to date interior, and I wasn’t disappointed. Everything is dated, but as I said, I expected that. The room was clean, well made up, and stocked with coffee, soap, shampoo, and even an iron and full sized ironing board. The bed was comfortable, but could have used a fourth pillow. The pillows were a bit flat and all of the same type. The only issue I had was that my room faced The Alameda, and there was some street noise, but I always sleep with earplugs and that took care of it. I would suggest that if you are sound sensitive, request a reset or interior room. Would I stay here again? For sure, it is like stepping back to the 50’s and the heyday of motels.

The location is great and the staff are very friendly and helpful. The room itself is a little dated, but clean and comfortable. At this price you’re not staying at the W. But if you need a clean, convenient place to sleep, the Flamingo is the spot.

Staff was very friendly and check in was a breeze. Great location for food/events. Very clean room. Comfortable and had a little fridge. Will definitely stay here again next time I travel out there
